Application of Polyacrylamide as a Ceramic Wastewater Coagulant and Flocculant

Release time:

2023-03-13

The ceramic wastewater coagulant and flocculant polyacrylamide appears as white granular powder. It has a molecular weight ranging from 6 million to 25 million and exhibits excellent water solubility—dissolving in water at any proportion without being soluble in organic solvents. Its effective pH range is from 7 to 14, and in neutral to alkaline media, it displays the characteristics of a high-molecular-weight polyelectrolyte.

The ceramic wastewater coagulant and flocculant, polyacrylamide, appears as white granular powder. It has a molecular weight ranging from 6 million to 25 million and exhibits excellent water solubility—dissolving in water at any proportion without being soluble in organic solvents. Its effective pH range is from 7 to 14. In neutral to alkaline media, it displays the characteristics of a high-molecular-weight polyelectrolyte. It is sensitive to salt electrolytes and can crosslink with divalent and higher-valent metal ions to form insoluble gels.

Functional characteristics of polyacrylamide

Clarifying and purifying effect;
Settling-promoting effect;
Filtering enhancement effect;
Thickening effect and other effects.

It can fully meet the requirements of various fields, including wastewater treatment from waste liquids, ceramic cutting wastewater, grinding fluid wastewater, mineral processing, coal washing, and papermaking.

Usage Notes

1. Configure concentration

Due to their high molecular weight and strong viscosity, the recommended concentration standard for ceramic wastewater coagulants is 1‰.

2. Dissolution vessel

The dissolving operation should be carried out in mixing tanks made of materials such as plastic, ceramic, and stainless steel.

3. Mixing process

The molecular chains of ceramic wastewater coagulants, when subjected to shear forces in solution, can break and degrade, thereby affecting their performance. Therefore, during dissolution and dilution, the stirring time should be minimized and the stirring intensity reduced as much as possible; furthermore, the stirring speed should not be lowered too rapidly.

Packaging specifications

Packaged in 15 kg paper-plastic composite bags or 25 kg paper-plastic composite bags.

Transportation and storage

The product must be stored in a cool, dry place to prevent moisture exposure. Under suitable conditions, the shelf life is two years. During transportation, handle with care—avoid impacts and prevent damage.
